Blocking a Member
NatterFly allows you to block another member if you no longer wish to see their chatroom messages or actions.
To block someone, visit their profile and select Block Member.
What happens when you block someone?
- You will no longer see their chatroom messages.
- You will no longer see their chatroom actions, such as /me.
- The blocked member can still see your public messages.
- The blocked member is not notified that you have blocked them.
- Other members continue to see both sides of the conversation as normal.
When does the block take effect?
Once you have blocked a member, you will need to leave the chatroom and rejoin for the block to take effect. This is only required when you first block or unblock someone.
Can I unblock someone?
Yes. Simply visit the member's profile again and select Unblock Member.
If you are currently in a chatroom, you will need to leave and rejoin the room before the change takes effect.
Important
Blocking a member only affects what you see. It does not remove the member from NatterFly or prevent them from taking part in public chatrooms.
If another member is breaking the NatterFly rules, behaving abusively, harassing others or making you feel unsafe, please report them to a Moderator or Sysop so appropriate action can be taken.
