Give your chatroom its own look
Chatroom owners can personalise their NatterFly chatroom by adding their own theme image.
Your image appears as a faded background image inside the chatroom, giving your room a little more character without getting in the way of the conversation.
How to add a theme image
- Sign in to NatterFly and open your Dashboard.
- Click My Chatrooms in the dashboard menu.
- Find the chatroom you want to customise and click the Edit button.
- Scroll to Room Theme Image.
- Click Choose file and select the image you would like to use.
- Click Save Chatroom.
That's it! Visit your chatroom and your new theme image will appear as part of the room.
Choosing a good theme image
Try choosing an image that represents the subject or personality of your room. For example:
- A local chatroom could use a well-known local landmark.
- A music room could use records, cassettes or musical instruments.
- A singles room could use hearts, roses or another romantic theme.
- A motoring room could use a car or motoring scene.
- A sci-fi room could use a spaceship or space-themed image.
- A late-night room could use a moon, stars or an owl.
Images with some clear or lightly coloured space around the main subject often work particularly well, as the theme is designed to blend into the chatroom rather than look like a full-page wallpaper.
Image size
You don't need to resize a large image before uploading it. NatterFly will automatically resize the uploaded theme image to a suitable size for use in the chatroom.
Changing or removing your image
You can change your theme image whenever you like. Return to Dashboard > My Chatrooms, edit your room and upload a new image.
If you no longer want a theme image, select Remove the current room theme image and save your chatroom.
Make your room your own
Your room name and topic tell people what your chatroom is about. A theme image gives it a little personality too.
